SBAA Elite Academy Training
The Breakers’ Elite Academy is the pinnacle of the Surrey Breakers Player Development System. The Breakers’ Elite Academy is developed to enhance the development of the top female players through high technical standards and a focus on meaningful competition. The Elite Academy is the introductory level for preparation for a professional, college or women’s premier level soccer career.
Our goal is to create a program for each player that will allow her to reach her full potential, whatever that may be. For the majority of our players, this level may be the pinnacle of their careers, but a select few will have the ability to play beyond that level. Players registered with the U-15 and U-16 Elite Academy teams will be exposed to and identified by college, provincial and premier coaches throughout Canada and the United States.
The Breakers’ Elite Academy program is designed to be additional training to their club teams. Club coaches and Academy coaches will work together to create the path of competition on these teams throughout the entire process. This process can include the U-16 Academy team playing in a competitive tournament or exhibition games during the season.
The Breakers’ Elite Academy (Winter Semester) will consist of 20 weeks of training on field and an additional 4 weeks of dry-land training during the winter semester. The cost of the program is $458.85 + gst (kit included)*. Players opting for the Youth Travel team, there is a payment plan outlined when players are selected to the program.
(*Travel accommodations and expenses may be additional if applicable.)

SBAA Youth Academy
The Breakers’ Youth Academy will be for selected players aged 10-14 years old. Players will receive training one night a week while still playing and training with their club team. The mission of the Youth Academy is to provide a professional training/learning environment that is age specific. The Youth Academy aims to have a positive impact on each player’s development on and off the field. The Youth Academy’s curriculum focuses on individual skill and technical development.
Surrey Breakers are active supporters of the development models of Canada Soccer and British Columbia Soccer Association. Successful players with regards to technical, behavioural, emotional and physical skill and maturity in the Breakers’ Youth Academy can be identified and recommended to attend an evaluation camp with the BC Provincial Teams program and/or the Whitecaps FC Prospects programs.
The Breakers’ Youth Academy program is designed to be a year-long commitment starting from September through July, but will be broken down into two semesters:
Winter Semester: The Youth Academy will operate over the Winter Semester (September to March) at which time will operate its program in conjunction with club teams. New players may also be added after being evaluated during the Youth Development Centre or showing good promise in club games and practices. Give your child the Breaker advantage with Surrey Breakers’ High Performance Training and start improving and honing your child’s skill immediately in these intensive 6-week training programs. Designed around the Breakers Academy core curriculum, these sessions will train advanced techniques in ball mastery, receiving/passing, 1v1 moves, finishing and more.
The Surrey Breakers’ High Performance Training program is technical training open to all female players. Through the design and support of the Surrey Breakers High Performance Training Program, players are constantly exposed to quality professional coaching as well as universal standards of play that are second-to-none. The program serves as a mentorship program to club coaches as they will be introduced to the Breakers Way and the Breakers Advantage of training and playing the game of soccer.

Surrey Breakers Academy will continue throughout the year, with each program focused on building individual skill and team-play excellence and providing players a real competitive edge. Because the Breakers Academy will be taught at skill level rather than age-level, it is the perfect environment both for those players who are looking to take their game to the next level. Players in the HPT program are evaluated and identified for the Breakers Development Academy all year long. Players are scouted during league games as well as through seasonal evaluation sessions. In addition to the training sessions, HPT will hold evaluation camps to assess the progression of a player’s development in soccer.
